The 6th China-Russia Expo—a platform promoting economic and trade cooperation between Beijing and Moscow—kicked off in Harbin, capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, on June 15. It will run until June 19.
The 30th China Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair, the largest annual trade fair of its kind in Heilongjiang province, is being held concurrently.
The slogan for this year’s expo is “China-Russia regional cooperation: opportunity, potential, and future”. It highlights key Sino-Russian cooperation projects and achievements in modern agriculture, equipment manufacturing, aerospace, minerals, and cross-border e-commerce. Another 38 business and cultural exchange activities will also be held.
The expo covers an area of 86,000 square meters and includes three indoor exhibition halls and an outdoor exhibition area featuring a China-Russia cooperation pavilion, a pavilion for Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and international exhibitors, an electromechanical pavilion, and a large machinery exhibition area.
Around 105 government commerce delegations and 1,764 enterprises from 74 countries and regions are attending the expo, including representative enterprises from the 18 oblasts of Russia. Countries such as Canada and Tajikistan are participating for the first time.
This year’s expo boasts the biggest-ever show area for Russian exhibitors, and activities marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia will also be held.
Additionally, the expo is holding bilateral dialogues on promoting cooperation in customs, financing, cross-border e-commerce, and fiscal tax in order to promote mutual recognition of trade rules and international practices, provide demonstrations of multilateral economic and trade exchanges, and boost confidence in international trade cooperation.
