With guidance from teachers and parents, nearly 300 students from a kindergarten in Xiangfang district, Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, helped farmers harvest carrots on Oct 29.
According to the farm owner, he didn’t harvest carrots earlier because the price in the market was not satisfactory.
To avoid the downturn, he would store the carrots in cellars until Spring Festival, when the vegetable has a relatively high price on the market.
“Of course, children are free to eat or take the carrots home as much as they can!” added the farmer.
