Advanced Materials Industry Exhibition opens in Harbin

The 3rd China International Advanced Materials Industry Exhibition (CIAMIE) opened in Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang province, on Sep 1.
"As part of the strategic emerging industries in the ‘Twelfth Five-year Plan’, the development of advanced materials has been highlighted by the central government, and we will spare no efforts to push forward its developing progress”, said Su Bo, vice-minister of Industry and Information Technology Ministry, at the opening ceremony.
Hu Yafeng, vice-governor of Heilongjiang province, said the advantage of resources, leading enterprises and market demand has fostered many new material industry parks and bases in Heilongjiang, which is becoming a new drive for the province’s economic growth.
Themed "Advanced material & upgraded equipment; achievements to refresh life”, the exhibition has attracted over 1,000 exhibitors from home and abroad to explore business opportunities during the event.
According to statistical data, 43 above-scale advanced material enterprises realized an industrial output of 15.55 billion yuan ($2.53 billion) in 2013, accounting for 4.6 percent of the above-scale industrial enterprises in Harbin.
