The city of Harbin, capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, started to provide heat for its residents on Oct 20.

According to the municipal housing bureau, the coverage of heat supply this year is higher than last year. With a record 99.987 percent of boilers switched on, the coverage of heat supply is wider than last year, according to the housing bureau of Harbin.

Except those households located on No 85 to 105 Huaihe Road, No 77 Wenjingjie Street and No 65 Qingbin Road of Nangang district, residents across the city have been able to enjoy heating at home, according to Zou Weiqun, director of the heating management office of the housing bureau.

Zou said residents are welcome to dial the heating service hotline on posters at the doorway of each residential unit if they have problems with the heating service. If heating suppliers don’t solve the problems in a timely fashion, residents can call the hotline 12319.
