Harbin's modern industrial system sees massive growth

The total scale of Harbin's “4+4” modern industrial system reached 621.37 billion yuan ($93.30 billion) in 2020, becoming an important engine that supports the city's high-quality economic development.
 
Harbin's modern industrial system covers the deep processing of green agricultural products and advanced equipment manufacturing, with modern biomedicine and the tourism sector as its pillar industries.
 
Its rapidly developing sectors are information, new materials, finance and modern logistics.
 
Last year, Harbin introduced a total of 12 projects, each with an investment amount of 10 billion yuan.
 
Projects involving Harbin's modern industrial system had investments of 12.93 billion yuan in place, accounting for more than 40 percent of the city's total industrial investment.
 
Meanwhile, in 2020, Harbin added 30 new business incubators at the municipal level. It also had 2,185 new technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises that had passed national evaluations, an increase of 84.2 percent year-on-year.
 
As a result, the northern city's number of high-tech enterprises reached 1,180, an increase of 45 percent year-on-year.
 
Since 2012, Harbin has advanced 1,945 key projects, with a total investment amount of 486.69 billion yuan in place. It has also upgraded and advanced 1,081 traditional projects and strategic emerging projects, with 128.42 billion yuan in place.
