Experience Luolemi Mountain scenic area's thrills 'n' spills

For tourists who want to experience thrilling suspended glass paths and heart-stopping whitewater rafting, Luolemi Mountain scenic area -- in Fangzheng county, Harbin -- is a must-visit destination.

The scenic area, located in the Shihe and Hongqi forest farms, covers more than 3,000 hectares. It features the majestic Yuanyang mountains, the wild excitement of whitewater rafting through the Xiangshui River and the pleasures of Hongqi Summer Resort.

The Yuanyang mountains encompasses the 720-meters high Yuanfeng Mountain and the 640 m tall Yangfeng Mountain, connected by a 228-meter fully transparent glass suspension bridge. Transparent glass paths along the cliffs of the mountains have also been installed.

Tourists not only have the chance to admire the magnificent natural landscape of the mountains through panoramic views, but also experience the thrill of virtually walking on air.

For whitewater rafting lovers, the Xiangshui River should not be missed, as it is recognized as the best of its type in Heilongjiang province.

The 10 kilometer-long stretch of river has a water level drop of 24 meters. For adrenalin junkies It takes around 3 hours to complete the whole knuckle-gripping whitewater rafting journey.

After one day hanging around the scenic area, tourists can opt for Hongqi Summer Resort to relax at night. It offers cool temperatures in summer and cozy wooden villas.

At a promotional meeting for the Luolemi Mountain scenic area held in Harbin on May 14, the manager of the scenic area revealed that half-price tickets will be issued on May 19 to mark “China Tourism Day”. Other activities, including a whitewater rafting festival, a flower sea art festival and a mini marathon will be held from June to October.
