A snow sculpture of "Bona", Quebec's Winter Carnival ambassador, shines at the 35th Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo, which is now being held in Harbin, the capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province.

Over 200 cubic meters of snow was used to make the sculpture, which now stands at 10 meters high, 5 meters wide and 4 meters thick. It has become a hot spot for tourists since it was built.

Bona appeared for the first time at the first Canadian Quebec Winter Carnival in 1955. It is a vivid representation of the fearlessness, optimism and joy of Quebecers in the severe winter conditions.

Over the years, Bona and the carnival it represents have become the most famous symbols of Quebec.

The inauguration ceremony for the Bona snow sculpture, along with other related cultural tourism and exchange activities, will take place in Harbin in February 2023.

The Quebec Winter Carnival even produced a short animated film about Bona coming to Harbin's ice and snow festival, which will be played in the "Ice Palace", which is the core scenic spot of the Quebec Winter Carnival in 2023.

The film will also be released on the carnival's social media platforms to promote the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival.

These activities aim to promote friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and Canada, while also helping Harbin to develop its ice and snow economy.
