Second phase of Harbin Metro Line 3 set to start operating

Residents in Harbin – capital city of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province – are expected to enjoy a much more convenient transportation service, in the wake of the completion of the second phase of the city's Metro Line 3 which will reportedly soon start operating.
 
The new metro section, together with the existing Metro Line 1 and Metro Line 2, will form a circle and cross metro line network in Harbin.
 
The first phase of Line 3, from Harbin West Railway Station to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, commenced operations on Jan 26, 2017 and is over kilometers long with 5 stations.
 
It is estimated that the daily flow of passengers taking the metro can now top 800,000 people.
 
The new metro line passes through the four main urban areas of Daoli, Nangang, Xiangfang and Daowai, which can serve more than one million people in more than 100 residential communities along the route. 
 
After its debut, passengers will be able to transfer to Metro Line 1 at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University Station and Taipingqiao Station and transfer to Metro Line 2 at Zhujiang Road Station.
