On Sept 11 at 22:13, an aircraft loaded with 38.7 metric tons of cross-border e-commerce goods and general trade goods took off from Harbin Taiping International Airport in Harbin, the capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, heading straight to Los Angeles, USA.

This marks the inaugural flight of the Harbin-Los Angeles "passenger to cargo" charter flight.

It is also another "passenger to cargo" charter flight to North America opened by the Harbin airport following the launch of the Harbin-Vancouver route in March.

The opening of this route is expected to enhance the international freight capacity of Heilongjiang, improve the layout of the route network, and facilitate the international logistics channels for foreign trade import and export companies in the province, laying the foundation for the development of Harbin as an international air cargo hub.

The route is operated by Heilongjiang Banke International Freight Co, which has chartered a China Eastern Airlines 777-300 aircraft. It plans to operate three flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays each week.

The flight time is about 11 hours, making it the shortest flight time from China to North America. Each flight can accommodate a payload of 40 tons, meeting the efficient transportation needs of cross-border e-commerce goods.
