The scenic spot Sun Island hosted a romantic activity for Qixi Festival (the Double Seventh Festival or Chinese Valentine’s Day), on August 13, for people to spend some time with their loved one.

The themed activity was very popular among people of all ages. Couples over 70 years old, pairs planning to marry, college lovers and singles who want to meet the right one all participated in the event. The oldest participants were 71-year-old Mr. Yu and his wife.

The 77 couples who signed up first could enter Sun Island for free. They posed for photos at a designated place, joined activities held by the sponsor, and then rode the carousel together, enjoying the sweetness and romance of the festival.

The sponsor also held interactive activities for singles to get to know each other and create a romantic spark.

“When I was young, I was busy working and taking care of the family. Now as I grow older and have more free time, I’d like to follow the popular fashion and celebrate Qixi. The air is clean, and the environment is good on Sun Island. And it’s free, so why not join,” said Mr. Yu.
