A large executive jet, the Legacy 650, which was assembled by Harbin Anbowei Airplane Industry Co, a joint venture of Aviation Industry Corporation of China and Embraer, a Brazilian aerospace conglomerate, made its maiden flight successfully on August 27. It will be handed over by the end of 2013.

Test pilots and test flight engineers from Embraer flew the jet for two hours and 30 minutes, making an assessment of its performance.
The Legacy 650 was officially put into operation at the end of 2010.

It can carry passengers a distance of 7,223 km, equivalent to the distance between Beijing and Dubai, or between Hong Kong and Adelaide, Australia. With three distinct cabin zones and the biggest lavatory in its class, the Legacy 650 provides passengers with more space to rest and work.

Previously, ICBC Financial Leasing Co signed a purchase agreement for 10 Legacy 650 jets with Harbin Anbowei, including five confirmation orders and five commitment orders. Embraer has received 21 confirmation orders and five commitment orders for its Legacy 650 in China since February 2012.
