Agricultural expo closes in Harbin

The Agriculture & Food Expo Harbin 2013 and the sixth Beidahuang International Agriculture Machinery Exhibition of Heilongjiang, China, closed at the Harbin International Conference, Exhibition and Sports Center on Sept 8.
Two four-day exhibitions have attracted a total of 255,000 visitors, including 60,000 professionals.
The Agriculture & Food Expo Harbin saw total business volume reach 9 billion yuan ($1.47 billion). Retail sales were over 95 million yuan. Thirty economic and trade cooperation deals were signed for a total amount of 3.27 billion yuan. A total of 86 agreements for grain purchases and sales were fixed, with trading volume totaling 5.07 billion yuan. Grain purchases and sale agreements that link suppliers, restaurants and farmer’s supermarkets totaled 250 million yuan.
In the Beidahuang International Agriculture Machinery Exhibition of Heilongjiang, total business volume reached 320 million yuan.
The total exhibition area is 81,000 square meters. More than 1,500 enterprises from China and nine other countries and regions have joined the event. A principal of a German delegation said that about 20 participants are Fortune Global 500 companies, raising the level of the expo and making it more international.
