Wanda Cultural and Tourist Town

Journalists from more than 30 media outlets conducted a deep investigation of project construction in Harbin on Nov 28. The Wanda Culture and Tourist Town was their first stop.
With a total investment of 20 billion yuan ($3 billion) by Harbin Wanda City Investment Co, the Wanda Cultural and Tourist Town project is located in Songbei district, Harbin city. Covering an area of 800,000 square meters, the project is expected to be completed in 2017.
The Wanda Cultural and Tourist Town project provides services in four areas: culture, travel, commerce and hotel accommodations. Most of the town’s projects are located indoors in order to minimize the influence of cold weather. Culture projects include theaters, a film technique park and cinemas. Travel projects include two indoor amusement parks and an outdoor park. The town houses the “largest cinema in Northeast China" and the “largest indoor ski park in the world.”
The outdoor park covers an area of 40 hectares. The commerce center covers an area of 90,000 square meters. Covering 14 hectares, the hotel area will have nine holiday hotels, including a super five-star hotel, a five-star hotel, two four-star hotels and five themed hotels.
