A promotion conference hosted by the Harbin-Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Economic Development Promotion Association was held on Jan 8. Six projects worth 520 million yuan ($86 million) will be established in Harbin. Jiang Ming, Zhang Wanping, Zhang Guihua, Li Zhiheng and municipal representatives attended the promotion conference.

Delegations from the economic development zone, Shuangcheng, Bin county, and other departments and zones of Harbin promoted their projects and sought investment at the conference. An agricultural expert from Taiwan elaborated on the potential and channels of agricultural cooperation between Taiwan and Harbin.

The Harbin-Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Economic Development Promotion Association, established in April 2013, works by the principle of "enhancing communication to promote economic development."Up to now, it has successfully introduced several projects into Harbin.

Contracts of the six projects were signed at the conference. The biggest project is worth 200 million yuan ($33.07 million) and was signed between the Harbin economic development zone and Organic Farm (Kunshan), a Taiwan-owned enterprise.

The Harbin-Hong Kong-Macau-Taiwan Economic Development Promotion Association held a symposium recently. Liu Guochao, president of the Harbin Federation of Returned Overseas and general manager of Heilongjiang Chenergy Hit High-Tech Venture Capital, delivered a presentation at the symposium themed "Promoting the Sustainable Development of Harbin through Scientific Innovation."
