A snow sculpture competition for the public, which has been cancelled for seven years, will open again on Jan 25 during the Harbin Snow Festival. Citizens can register for the competition until Jan 20. The organizing committee will choose 30 teams according to designs submitted by citizens.

The Snow Festival, which has been held for 26 years, has become increasingly influential. Teams will work to sculpt a snow cube measuring 1.2 meters in length, width and height during the competition.

The competition will be held on Sun Lake. All the citizens of Harbin’s eight districts and 10 counties can apply for the competition. When applying, the applicants should submit one to two pieces of their designs on A4 paper. Thirty teams will be picked. The teams can have no more than three members.
