Song Xibin, mayor of Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, met with a delegation headed by Yu Lin, mayor of Xinjiang's Beitun city, on Oct 20.

Song extended a warm welcome to the delegation and recalled the friendship between the two cities when Xinjiang's Altay prefecture and Beitun were receiving support from Heilongjiang province for economic development.

Beitun has an advantageous position, abounds in natural resources, and has what it takes for industrial development.

Agreeing with Beitun's development strategy featuring industrial construction, Song added:

"Harbin has withstood economic downturn pressure and realized steady growth this year. Harbin will, as always, give support to Beitun's development.”

Song and Yu exchanged their ideas on bilateral cooperation in tourism, agricultural machinery, as well snow clearing equipment. Both sides expected to realize mutual benefit and win-win results through complementing each other's advantages.
