In the double room of Baiyupao Nursing Home in Daowai district, Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, senior citizens can enjoy a range of services, including medical and hospital treatments, as well as all-round three-star services found in hotels.
"We’ve got a private bathroom, telephone, TV, refrigerator, wardrobes and other home appliances for our customers. Wheelchairs, sputum aspirators and other medical equipment are available upon residents’ call," said Lian Fengzhen, president of the nursing home.
The nursing home has opened rehabilitation-training sessions for elderly residents suffering from Alzheimer's and other diseases and disabilities. According to Lian, one third of senior citizens in the nursing home are stroke-affected patients.
The nursing home also prides itself on providing its residents with healthy meals and ensuring regular medical services are available. Self-sufficient residents can enjoy a comfortable time with peers in the nursing home, with a double room for 1,800 yuan ($291.6) per month. Patients with medical insurance can enjoy the satisfactory service for a reduced rate at 1,600 yuan per month.
