More than 500 kinds of green food from Harbin, capital of Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, were exhibited in the Shanghai International Agricultural Exhibition Center from Dec 19 to 22.

Themed "Advocating Green Consumption, Guarding Food Safety", the exhibition offers a variety of green agricultural products including cereals & oil-based foods, drinks, animal by-products and meat, milk and eggs.

Hosted by the municipal government of Harbin, the green food exhibition has been successfully held in Shanghai in 2012 and 2013 with contracts reaching 21.5 billion yuan ($3.44 billion) and on-the-spot trade volume exceeding 3.48 million yuan.

Thanks to the exhibitions, Harbin’s green food has opened its market in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region. More than 200 kinds of Harbin green food have been sold in nearly 300 sales outlets in Shanghai with annual sales of nearly 2 billion yuan.
