International College Students Snow Sculpture Competition ends

With 89 teams from 11 countries, including Russia, Germany and Ukraine, competing for four days, the seventh International College Students Snow Sculpture Competition brought down the curtain at the cultural park of Harbin Engineering University on Jan 7. 

Snow sculptures by another 10 teams won the first prize in the competition, including Awaking Moment by Beijing Institute of Technology, Pursuing by Tianjin Fine Arts Academy, Joyful Youth Dream by Harbin Normal University, Travel with Joy by Harbin Huade University, Meaning of Arrival by Shanxi University, and Inspiration Snow, Flying Dreams by South China Normal University.

Participants created their works according to their understanding of the theme "Inspiration Snow Dream" of the competition and used up to 2,326.5 cubic meters of snow, a number breaking the world record maintained by the competition in the past.
 

 

Harbin ramps up childcare services

A new comprehensive service center for childcare in Harbin is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
