The administrative committee of China’s Snow Town, a popular attraction in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, recently launched a campaign to crack down on arbitrary overcharging in guesthouses and restaurants.

The campaign came in response to a complaint from a visitor on the Internet, and the administrative committee initiated the move after further investigation.

Overcharging of admission fees in some attractions, such as Fantasyland and a cottage, which were 380 yuan ($61) and 50 yuan, were prohibited.

All the goods and services will be sold at expressly marked prices, according to the committee.

Meanwhile, the committee will put together advertisements for new folk-style cafeterias, where each tourist can enjoy a meal of 20-plus special dishes for just 38 yuan.

In addition, tourists encountering any attempt at fraud are encouraged to report this to the committee as well.
