Harbin Ice and Snow World receives 1.3m visitors

Harbin Ice and Snow World, a popular winter tourist destination in Northeast China, closed on the evening of March 1 because of the arrival of warmer weather and safety concerns for visitors.
During its 70-day operation, the park received 1.3 million domestic and overseas tourists, achieving a 47 percent increase in the number of visitors compared to last year and reaching a historical high.
Its revenue also reached a high of 320 million yuan ($52 million).
The just-concluded Harbin Ice and Snow World gained a reputation for its amazing landscapes, wonderful performances and service facilities.
The reception hall was expanded to handle more visitors. Free access to Wi-Fi and ginger decoctions were available in the hall. There was also rental service for winter clothing and accessories.

It was the first time that the Harbin Ice and Snow World used a cartoon fairy image to promote branding across the park.
