NE China establishing a league to promote youth football

The city of Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province is continued to show its enthusiasm for youth football and its determination to develop the sport, on April 13.
It held a youth tournament at the grassroots level, mainly to target primary and secondary schools in the southern part of the city. And, it was also meant to be a good opportunity to exchange ideas on football training among the 11 schools involved.

In explaining the move, Zhang Xinzhang, of the city’s sports department, commented, “This latest move is a first step in promoting football among young people and it’s important for them to take part in the sport within an education environment.”
