The city of Harbin, in Heilongjiang province, will have four ferry lines in operation next week to take visitors to its many wetland scenic areas, according to the ferry operators, on May 20, after being postponed for about half a month because of low temperatures and a larger than normal amount of rainfall.

Average temperatures in May have been quite low, leading to a decrease in the the number of tourists taking ferries around Harbin but, with weather forecasts of around 30 C for next week and sunny weather, all the tourist routes are expected to be open by the end of May, with night lines as well, after the Dragon Boat Festival, of June 20 - 22.

And, there will be more ferry lines than in the past open to suit tourists’ various needs, including those to the Sun Island Wetland, Harbin Grand Theatre, Jinhewan Wetland Park, and Dog Island. The ferries can also carry tourists’ cars and the night lines, 1-hour-20-min long, will pass by some hot tourist spots, such as the flood control monument, Youth Center, cable-stay bridge on Sun Island, Jiuzhan Park, and Old Man Harbor.
