For this year's Dragon Boat Festival, in the city of Harbin’s Daowai district, in Heilongjiang province, there was a range of delicacies and folk art performances on the Chinese-Baroque Historic Block, June 20 to 22, for both local people and visitors.

The block contains the largest number of intact "Chinese Baroque" buildings in China’s Northeast so it was the perfect place to give visitors with a taste of traditional art forms, such as folk music, the errenzhuan (a song-and-dance duet popular in the Northeast), the xiangsheng (crosstalk) and acrobatics to help them celebrate and to raise their cultural awareness.

It also gave them a chance to experience some other culture heritage, such as the yangko (a popular rural folk dance) and calligraphy as well as various local snacks and popular foods. The celebration attracted more than 40,000 visitors on the first day alone.
