The Ruston logistics company, in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province got its first deal for its warehouse operation in the Greenwood International Trade Center, in Moscow, Russia, on July 15, to handle consumer goods from Harbin for local distribution, Harbin media have reported, noting that they are mostly electronics goods and clothing from cross-border e-commerce.

In this way, the products can take less than two days to reach Russian customers and it can alleviate worries about refunds or replacements if there is any problem with the goods. Previously, it could take 30 - 45 days to cross the China-Russia border and deliver the item.

This has attracted many Chinese enterprises who want to store auto parts or computers parts as well, because of the efficiency. Ruston is a major player in the cross-border logistics business with Russia and, in the 2013-14 period it has delivered 16.64 million parcels to Russian buyers, accounting for about 27 percent of China’s total e-commerce business with Russia.

Yu Hang, the company’s GM, says there is great demand for daily necessities made in China in Russian-speaking countries and that the amount of consumer goods exported to Russia through two border areas in the Xinjiang region amounted to 600 ton in a single day during a peak, in 2013.
