Of all the districts in the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province, Shuangcheng stands out for its heavy investment in modern agriculture, so, naturally, some Internet media representatives from other parts of China paid it a visit to see the local farmland, where they found that all the vegetables were grown in greenhouses.

The owner of the farm explained that there were more greenhouses under construction, in addition to the 1,000 plus already on the farm and are expected to bring substantial benefits to local farmers. One other farmer described how the first crop of greenhouse cucumbers and long beans had done well in Harbin in early spring and the second crop of persimmons brought good profits in South China in October.
The district has almost 500 square kilometers for grains, animals, and vegetables, and 12,000 greenhouses in all and the district government has come up with a brand for its agricultural products – Nong Wa -- and has its focus on better branding.
