The tourism administration of Harbin, Heilongjiang province is working on a campaign to crack down on illegal activities in the tourism industry, Heilongjiang Daily reports.

The authorities has joined hand with other governmental departments like provincial tourism quality supervision and management center to investigate illegal business operations, such as organizing tours at unreasonable low price, compulsory consumption and non-standard tourist contracts.

They have punished a total of 7 travel agencies and 13 tour guides for violating industrial rules and will make more efforts to solve the problems that are most concerned by visitors.

According to the authorities, the campaign was launched to embrace the peak winter tourist season in Harbin.
