Harbin starting work on tourist allocation center

The city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province has announced plans to build a tourist allocation center in its western part at a cost of 4-billion yuan ($615.38 million), Heilongjiang Daily reports.

The first phase covers a 66,000-square-meter area and includes an allocation hall, commercial facilities, and transportation hub, opposite the Harbin West Railway Station.
The second phase will add residential buildings, on about 33,000 sq m of space and the completed center will be used to provide a seamless travel experience that is convenient and efficient in transferring to other modes thanks to the concentration of public transportation, with high-speed trains, coaches, subway lines, buses and taxis.
In addition, an intelligent allocation and management system is expected to give tourists one-stop services ranging from inquiries to ticketing to first-aid and complaints, while there will be luxury hotels, shopping malls, supermarkets and entertainment facilities for those who want to stop in the center.
