Heilongjiang province’s Party chief Wang, Xiankui, has called for a greater effort in building infrastructure and key industrial projects, while visiting the city of Harbin, Heilongjiang’s capital, on May 8.
Wang noted that the city’s economy got off to a good start this year and now it needs to make the most of its technology and talent to help rejuvenate the province.
Wang’s first stop of his tour was at the HIT Robot Group, established in December 2014 with funding from the provincial government and the Harbin Institute of Technology, which was ranked 7th among the best global engineering universities, by US News in 2015, where Wang listened to a report on its technological innovations, commercialization of products, and financing for IPO listing.
The next stop was a research institute of the China Shipbuilding Industry Corp, where he spoke about providing top-quality small-to-mid-sized gas turbines for upstream-downstream companies. Other stops included a photoelectric equipment manufacturer, a graphite industrial park and high-tech projects for new materials and information technology.
At the end of his tour, the Party chief chaired a meeting with the Heilongjiang vice-governor, Hu Yafeng, the Harbin Party chief, Chen Haibo, and the Harbin mayor, Song Xibin, taking part.
