When Heilongjiang province put on its Culture Industry Investment Fair, as part of the 12th China (Shenzhen) International Culture Industry Fair (ICIF) in the city of Shenzhen, Guangdong province, starting May 13, it saw at least 33 contracts signed on the first day alone, worth 16.07 billion yuan ($2.47 billion).

They covered publishing and distribution, digital services, tourism, fashion, and film and TV productions, with 14 key provincial investment projects, such as this year’s China Harbin Summer Concert, in August, a Harbin Daily digital management project, and Art1917, a customized, personalized online site for sales, auctions, and crowd-funding of Russian oil paintings.

The city of Harbin itself signed six agreements worth 310 million yuan at the fair and this was the fifth time for Harbin delegates to hold a promotion at ICIF. It has, so far, signed 83 contracts totaling 13.46 billion yuan since event began in 2012.
