NE China to host 2016 int’l marathon

The city of Harbin, Heilongjiang province will be holding the Harbin International this coming Aug 28, the city’s first full marathon ever, and is expecting more than 30,000 people from China and abroad for the full, half, and mini marathons.
The runners will leave the starting gate at 7:30 am from the intersection of Youyi Rd and Central Ave, and continue on past such landmarks as the Harbin Flood Control Monument and Music Park and finish at Municipal Government Square for the full 42 kilometer race.
The organizers say they have also invited politics and sports celebrities to run alongside and will put up 22 medical service centers and more than 50 supply spots with refreshments for the runners for and rehydration along the route.
The organizers are the Chinese Athletic Association, Heilongjiang sports bureau, and Harbin municipal government.
Registration starts on the official website, on June 22.
