First Manchu Molezhen convention held in Harbin

The first Manchu Molezheconvention was held on May 21st in Harbin Manchu Style Park. About 160 Fuchashi clansmen from Beijing, Liaoning province and Jilin province attended the convention.

‘Molezhen’ means ‘competition’ in the Manchu language. Manchu Molezhen is a traditional cultural sports meeting which has pearl balls for men, women hunting activities, tugs-of-war, dragon dancing, folk dancing, wrestling and martial arts. The Molezhen is an important window on Jurchen culture, a valuable research event for Manchu culture, and an important transmitter of the Jinyuan culture.
