The Jinshangjing ruins have been included in the tentative list of World Cultural Heritages the Harbin municipal government is expected to declare this year.

The ruins are one of the 150 largest such sites in China. They are divided into northern and southern parts, with a total area of 6.28 square kilometers. The palace is located in the southern area. This building is in the Song dynasty style as it has foundations made of soil. It appears that Jurchens learned well from the Han people. The building site was perhaps a place of worship in the imperial city of the Jing dynasty; if so, its research value would increase.

The unearthed relics are grey tiles and figure statues. Most of them are decorated with dragons; others have animal and floral patterns. Only the emperor could use dragon tiles in the Jing dynasty. So this was an important part of the imperial city. Unearthed production tools such as iron knives, china bowls, and coins from the Northern Song dynasty, reflect enriched economic and cultural activities.
