It is a season of flowering. Forty-seven kinds of peonies and 36 kinds of Chinese herbaceous peonies, as well as tulips, are blooming all over the 2.2 hectares of Harbin forest botanical garden. They are in full flower at the end of May until the end of June, each year. Yellow Yaohuang, green Doulv, a two-colors-in-one flower named Erqiao, and many other rare and interesting species imported from Japan can be seen here. However, the highlight of the botanical garden is “the queen of the peonies”, a plant which has grown happily in Harbin for 20 years.
