AC312E helicopter takes off in Harbin

The AC312E helicopter, independently developed by Hafei Aviation Industry Co, Ltd, made its maiden flight in Harbin on July 28. It has 80 international orders.

The AC312E is based on the civil helicopter AC312A. It targets domestic and foreign markets. It has high-power, a low-emission engine and advanced integrated aerospace systems. The maximum takeoff weight of the AC312E is 4250 kg; it can carry nine passengers or 600 kilograms of goods. It inherited the pneumatic layout of the AC312, and has advantages in ergonomics and operating costs. The AC312E can be modified to suit users’ needs. The helicopter will be used in medical aid, transportation, search and rescue, passenger transport and VIP services. Hafai Aviation anticipates receiving CCAC certification for the aircraft by the end of 2017.
