Ways to boost vegetable sales in Harbin

Updated : 2016-08-03

The city of Harbin’s rural work committee, commerce bureau and public security bureau have come up with five ways to promote local produce sales, to take some of the burden off farmers in trying to sell their vegetables.

One of these is an agricultural structural adjustment program for this year that calls for an increase in area for planting vegetables and fruits. The ruling has also resulted in 181 streets being made available for famers to sell their vegetables, with licenses for home-grown vegetables provided for free. And, if they choose to sell their produce at the city’s Hada or Runheng wholesale market, they can benefit from the transaction fees.

There will also be a notice on the whole-sale price of vegetables and fruits published on a regular basis, for the famers’ references.
