Thirty companies have signed contracts at a ceremony to enter Harbin’s Science and Technology Innovation Town.

The businesses are in industries including internet services, e-commerce, finance, biotechnology, robotics, renewable energy, equipment and manufacturing.

To date, a total of 550 companies have already signed contracts to enter the Harbin Science and Technology Innovation Town. The town, along the north bank of the Songhua River,has attached great importance toinnovation in its development strategy in recent years.

Most recently, the Harbin Runda Kangtai Biotechnology Co Ltd has pledged to enter the technology town, having established relationships with more than 50 medical institutions in Heilongjiang province. The company has provided more than 200 million yuan ($30 million) of clinical equipment to provincial medical departments.
