Food production complex set for Harbin development

Plans are afoot for Madieer Food Co. Ltd, a major food production company, to construct a food industries related complex in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, Harbin Daily reported.
Madieer has received the green light and invested 450 million yuan ($67.8 million) into the project. In this endeavor Madieer will focus on food production, the development of business, and opportunities in the tourism sectors.
The Madieer complex will cover an area of 57,048 square meters and will be comprised of a factory and a commercial center. The factory will produce a wide array of products including popsicles, beer, and kvass (a fermented beverage of Eastern European origin). The commercial center will include museums, hotels, and western-style restaurants.
The factory will be open for tours and visitors will be able to watch some of the manufacturing processes through glass walls. Some lucky visitors will even have the opportunity to participate in the manufacturing.
The business model for this new industrial food complex is to create a multifunctional space and to generate revenue from a range of sources.
It is thought that this new project will pave the road for Madieer’s bright future in the food industry.
