Harbin Second Hospital has reached a consensus with Baiyupao Senior Nursing Home to build the city’s first new type of medical care center.
From now on, the elderly people who live in the home can get referred for treatment in a facility managed by both the hospital and the nursing home.
This new type of medical care center has combined medical services and elderly care services together. In the center, elderly people can enjoy various medical care services.
After the founding of this center, both the hospital and the nursing home will jointly manage a more convenient system for the elderly to seek medical care services.
The Harbin Second Hospital will make full use of its expertise to provide better care for elderly people, as well as helping with the training of staff and the dispensing of medicines, according to Luan Feng, director of the hospital.
Furthermore, hospitals will provide medical services such as physical examinations and advice from nurses, through the newly established centers. Health records will also be kept for all patients.
So far, Harbin Second hospital has reached agreement with 18 nursing homes in the Daowai District, in order to promote the development of this new type of health care.
