Half of Harbin’s white-collar workers chose to change their jobs in autumn, according to the results of the latest survey conducted by Chinese online recruitment platform zhaopin.com.

The top reasons for wanting to change their jobs are low salaries, a poor work-life balance and limited career development prospects, according to the results of the survey.

Only 37 percent of Harbin’s white-collar workers claim to be optimistic about their future career prospects. Meanwhile, Harbin’s Career Confidence Index, which tracks white-collar workers and their attitudes to careers, has dropped to 3.14 in autumn, down from 3.2 in the spring.

The survey also shows that 50.1 percent of white-collar workers in Harbin have already joined a growing army of jobseekers, while 40.5 percent claim they have intentions to move jobs.
