More than 50 foreign students from over 10 countries participated in the international food festival held at the International Culture Education College of Northeast Agricultural University (NAU) in Harbin, Heilongjiang province on Oct 19.

The students were from Russia, Pakistan, South Korea, Nigeria, Laos, and Mongolia. They all shared their homemade dishes from various cuisines with other students from NAU. Meanwhile, students from NAU also prepared for them traditional Chinese dishes, including dishes from Northeast China.

Zhao Hong, a teacher from the International Culture Education College, demonstrated the whole process of making dumplings.

"I like the Chinese dumplings, and also Chinese rice, noodles and tea with milk," said Elsa Hassan, a freshman from Pakistan experiencing the food festival for the first time.

The food festival aims to educate foreign students about food culture from different countries and promote cultural communication.
