Heilongjiang province will make greater efforts to crack down on the operations of second-hand car sellers without proper licenses, according to the provincial industrial and commercial bureau.

The bureau said Heilongjiang province will reform the sale of used cars and collect credit information on the main businesses involved in the industry.

The government will strengthen regulation of the second-hand car industry and businesses without proper licenses will be banned. Also, older vehicles that have been scrapped will not be allowed to be resold in future.

Credit information on firms involved in the second-hand car industry, such as car dealers, auctioneers and appraisers, will be collected and published in the national enterprise information publicity system.

Those who find evidence of improper practice can report it to the relevant department, including issues such as false advertising and bribery.
