Harbin residents can now donate their old clothes to almost 1,000 clothes recycling bins in 140 communities throughout the city.
"I have kept my old clothes for a long time and don’t want to throw them away, and now it is much more convenient to donate my old clothes,” said a lady from Xiangfang District, Harbin.
From May 2016, the Charity Federation of Heilongjiang province (CFH) began to recycle old clothes. For those clothes which can be directly used, they will be delivered to people who are financially struggling. For clothes which cannot be directly used, they will be recycled.
All the clothes donated by Harbin citizens are recycled by staff members from CFH, and aid families below the poverty line.
