Harbin Organic Food Exhibition Fair was held in Chengdu, Sichuan province, on Dec 1, to promote local agricultural products in the southwestern part of China.

The fair, as part of the fourth Chengdu International Modern Agricultural Expo, displayed Harbin’s special local agricultural products and organic food.

The event covered an area of 600 square meters, and was held in Chengdu New International Exhibition Center. It hosted 48 companies, including some of Harbin’s famous brands.

Products on display at the fair included rice, mushroom, and wine.

"I took a total of 2 tons of rice this time and local rice dealers in Chengdu have bought all of them,” said Fu Pengfei, a businessman from a rice cooperative in Tonghe county, Harbin.

Harbin achieved remarkable results at the previous year’s fair in Chengdu, signing contracts worth 580 million yuan ($84.3 million) with Chengdu firms, according to an official from Harbin Agricultural Commission.

The official expressed his hopes that better results will be achieved this year. He also encouraged Harbin firms participating in the fair to try their best to expand their promotional channels and find more partners to cooperate with, so as to bring more high-quality Harbin products to Sichuan province.
