Song Xibin, the mayor of Harbin, urged companies to improve work efficiency and quality to provide better services at a symposium on Dec 12.

Company leaders, including those from Wanda cultural tourism town and Hua’nan town, came to attend the symposium and express their thanks for the support that the government has given to some of their ongoing projects.

These company leaders expressed their hopes that the government will provide more support and aid for public facilities.

Song called for related departments to build a better business environment to attract more overseas companies to invest in Harbin.

"The Harbin government should promote streamlining administration and delegating more power to lower levels," Song said.

Song expressed his wishes that international companies could treat Harbin as their second home, and better promote Harbin to the outside world.

From January to October this year, 49 companies were newly established by international businesspeople, an increase of 28.95 compared with the same period last year.

A total of $441 billion have been invested by foreign business people, an increase of 158.84 percent.
