Harbin holds college student ice engraving competition

The 11th ice engraving competition for college students has begun in Zhaolin Park of Harbin, Heilongjiang province.
More than 100 students in 32 groups from 19 colleges and universities have taken part in the competition, including students from Northeast Agricultural University, the Harbin University of Science and Technology,and the Hebei Academy of Fine Arts.
This competition aims to enhance students' understanding of ice and snow art, and to raise their enthusiasm for the ice engraving.
The subject of this ice engraving activity is “inheriting ice lantern art and developing ice and snow culture”. One topic will be given for every competitor to make their own ice sculpture.
Students will make 32 ice sculptures within three days, forming an ice sculpture art corridor.
The Harbin ice lantern art exhibition center will reimburse student’s accommodation and travelling expenses.
