Ice hot pot restaurant opens in Harbin

Harbin has recently opened its biggest ice hot pot restaurant to the public, in the ice and snow area of Jinhewan Wetland Botanical Garden.
The ice restaurant can cater to 110 people at a time, and guests enjoy their meals surrounded by ice resembling crystal.
The restaurant has attracted more than 600 guests within the first three days of opening.
The ice hot pot restaurant is situated in the eastern part of the golden sand beach area of the garden. It covers an area of 240 square meters and measures 40 meters long, 6 meters wide and 3 meters high.
The restaurant’s walls, ceilings, bars and wine racks are all made of ice, except the framework which is made of steel. However, the tables and chairs are made of wood. A VIP dining room is available in the restaurant and can accommodate 10 people.
The temperature in the restaurant is kept at 0 C and every seat is equipped with a heating pad to keep diners warm and comfortable.
A self-service hot pot menu is provided at the restaurant for 198 yuan ($28.6) per person.
