Heilongjiang has been ranked the third most popular tourist destination for Chinese people to spend their Spring Festival holiday, according to statistics released by online tourist platform Feizhu.

Yunnan and Hainan are the most popular tourist destinations, according to data from the Alibaba-affiliated company.

Among the tourists travelling during the Spring Festival holiday, post-85s account for more than 60 percent, data showed. Meanwhile, over 28 percent of post-85s travel three times a year.

The data also revealed that people from South China prefer to travel to the North while people from North China prefer to travel to the South.

Southerners like to see snow and ice in the north, while northerners like to see the sea in the south.

Other popular tourist destinations include Jilin, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Guangdong, Beijing, Fujian and Shanghai.

In terms of outbound tourism, Thailand is the first choice for Chinese people to spend their Spring Festival holiday. Other hot overseas tourist destinations are the United States, Australia and Dubai.
