Harbin builds longest high-tech economic belt

Harbin has made remarkable achievements in building the longest high-tech industrial economic belt in China, according to the city’s science and technology department.
There are currently 52 business entities located in the 15.8-kilometer economic belt. So far, buildings on the site cover 500,000 square meters.
Over the past two years, Harbin has invested about 476 million yuan ($69.3 million) into the building of offices for business incubators and sci-tech companies, which are expected to provide about 12,000 jobs.
The economic belt is located in Harbin’s Nangang district, which has a high concentration of technological resources.
There are currently 22 universities in the district, with about 250,000 students. Eighteen of these universities are located along the economic belt.
Harbin ramps up childcare services
A new comprehensive service center for childcare in Harbin is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
