The Yantai government has signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation framework agreement with Harbin Engineering University at Oriental Haitian Hotel on March 3 in Yantai, East China’s Shandong province.
Meng Fanli, Party secretary of Yantai, and Gu Huanmin, secretary of the Party committee of HEU, both made speeches at the signing ceremony of the agreement.
Meng introduced Yantai’s economic and social development as well as its technological innovation work.
He noted that HEU is an important scientific research base, especially in the marine, shipping and nuclear energy industries.
"HEU plays an important role in the research and development of warships,” said Meng.
"The cooperation framework agreement signed by Yantai and HEU will greatly boost innovation in the shipbuilding and oceanography engineering science and technology,” he said.
He urged all local governments in Yantai to take this opportunity to fully implement the agreement, boost innovation, and establish a cooperation platform to achieve progress for both sides.
The cooperation framework agreement aims to accelerate Yantai’s industrial transformation and upgrading, and promote the development of the city’s shipping industry.
Meanwhile, the agreement will promote HEU’s science and technology research and achievement transformation.
